Role Overview London Cookery Lecturer Jobs
HRUC is currently looking for a full-time Lecturer to join its successful team at the Hayes Campus. As part of the Hair, Beauty, Hospitality, Early Years, and Performing Arts School, you’ll be teaching students across a variety of Hospitality programs, including VRQs/NVQs in Professional Cookery and Apprenticeship Standards at different levels.
The role includes teaching Level 1 to Level 3 students, as well as Apprenticeship Standards like Level 2 Production Chef, Level 2 Commis Chef, and Level 3 Chef De Partie.
The department is supported by the campus’s on-site restaurant, Revisco, which is open to the public, giving students practical, hands-on experience.
What We Are Looking For
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- Qualification: At least Level 3 in Catering/Cookery.
- Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching or a passion for educating young minds, particularly 16-18-year-olds.
- Industry Experience: A strong background as a Chef in the Catering or Hospitality industry, which will help you engage with students and bring real-world knowledge into the classroom.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Your ability to connect with students and create a positive learning environment is crucial.
- Commitment to Professional Development: You will need, or be willing to obtain, a Level 5 teaching qualification. Don’t worry, HRUC will fully support and fund this qualification over two years.
